“While congratulating the new board members, I urged them to work towards bringing in investment in the mining sector so that it can contribute towards the expansion of the economy of Oyo State,” Governor Makinde said in a statement Thursday, June 4,2020 in Ibadan,.
This is a key step in the Oyo State government’s determination to turn around the fortunes of the mining company which has been comatose for some time. The business of the mining company is to commercially exploit the large natural marble deposits found at Igbeti town, located in the state.
