The Lafiagi Sugar Plantation located in Lafiagi, Kwara State has been granted a certificate of occupancy in respect of the land for its plantation.
The Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq in a short ceremony at Government House, Ilorin Tuesday ,May 26,2020 formally handed over the Certificate of Occupancy to Labaran Sadu ,who is a representative of BUA Group, the owners of Lafiagi Sugar company and the Lafiagi Sugar plantation.
The BUA Group is building a $300 million integrated sugar processing facility in Lafiagi known as LASUCO.On completion later this year, LASUCO would be the biggest integrated sugar plantation and processing company in the country, according to Kabiru Rabiu, executive director of BUA Group.
