Mustafa Chike-Obi has been appointed Chairman of the board of directors of Fidelity Bank Plc, the bank has announced July 6,2020. This follows the impending retirement of current chairman, Ernest Ebi, it the end of his tenure next month.
Another non-executive director, Seni Adetu, would also step down, having completed his tenure, according to the bank.
Ebi, who was appointed chairman of Fidelity Bank in 2016.Ebi is a former Deputy Governor of the Central bank of Nigeria, CBN.
His successor, Chike-Obi, is currently the Executive vice-chairman at Alpha African Advisory. He was pioneer Managing director/CEO of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON),which was set up in 2008 to buy and manage the non-performing loan assets of Nigerian banks after the 2008 global financial crisis.
“He has over 40 years of experience in investment banking and the financial services sector, working with reputable global investment banking and asset management firms,” the bank said of its new chairman.
Chike-Obi holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of Lagos (first class honors) and an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business
